Today, in Team Moana we have been learning to use adjectives to desibe a mood or atmosphere. Our task was to discribe the treehouse we drew. Here is a picture of a tree house that my group made and the adjectives to describe the mood. In my group is: Cruz,Sydney-rose,Eternity,Ricci-lee,Ellie and myself. Cardboard lunch box

Hello, Today I had been given some tasks to do. I chose to make a cardboard compartment lunchbox. We had to make a lunchbox out of cardboard.  We had to put it on our blog. I liked putting the cardboard in the box. I did not like cutting the paper card. I found it interesting doing all the stapling. Her is my cardboard lunch box.

Hello, Today I had been given some tasks to do. I chose to make a compartment  lunchbox.We had to make this because at Ohaeawai School we have started a program to show we have no rubbish in our lunchboxes. We had to draw a lunchbox to put on our blog and to encourage people not to put rubbish in our lunchboxes. If you have a look at what your lunchbox looks like. If you have rubbish in your lunchbox and rubbish flies out of your lunchbox you will hurt the environment. Here  is my lunchbox.. 

Autumn Leaves

Kia ora, Yesterday, our teacher Miss Fletcher took us outside to look at some autumn leaves. I enjoyed going outside and looking at leaves and nature. What I found difficult was finding sentences to match the letters in my acrostic poem. When we got back we had to write a poem about what we saw. Myths

Hi There,this week we have been writing myths.  My whole class wrote a myth and our wonderful teachers, Miss Dixon,Mrs B allowed us to write about whatever we wanted to.
  

                The end of America?

It was a normal day in Ameica. A newscast popped

up and it said that an earthquake was coming and

we needed to get prepared. Everything started to shake

and all the trees fall down and the houses were falling

down while people were going for a walk.

There was glass shattering around their feet. The class went

mad,crazy angry they were under the table.The glass

There were wood rolling down the road people were

yelling lourd as .It said on the tv that there was a big storm

it was dark and it was going to be very big .

There were lot's of people they were doing a walk until

the newscast popped up and said there was. Going to be a

tsunami and a man yelled out. There is going to be a tsunmai.Then they ran up to as high as they could and they ran up this big maunga.

Structure of the Earth

Structure of the Earth Facts

We are learning about the structure of the Earth.

I learnt that the Earth is made up of 4 layers. They are the

CRUST

MANTLE OUTER CORE

INNER CORE

Facts about each layer:

Crust - The crust is the thinnest layer.The Earth is also the 1st layer.

Mantle - The mantle is the thickest layer of the earth and it is soft squishy rock
because it is hot.

Outer Core -is the third layer of the Earth and is under of the Mantle. Also it is very very hot at the
Outer Core it is 4000-6000'C totally liquid and it has some rocks.

Inner Core - The core is very very hot it is 6,000 Hot. The core is solid ball from all the other layers

Our group -  is Ariana Teziah Hayley.

First we created a 3D image of the earth using …..

We then cut the shape in half to show the different layers.
After waiting for it to dry, we identified each layer by painting them in different colours.

Greats and Grands Day

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special. My nana got up and did Jump Jam with me and my brother. She is so nice because she brought me a raspberry plant and a sun flower.

We have been learning about procedural writing. Here is my own recipe creation for yum soup.

Cornflakes

Rice Bubbles

Weetbix

sugar

Milk

Equipment:

Big Bowl

Spoon

Method

Step 1:  Place 1 cup of Cornflakes in the bowl.

Step 2: Add 1 cup of Rice Bubbles in the bowl.

Step 3: Mix in 1 cup of crushed weetbix

Step 5: put 5 teaspoons of sugar in the bowl

Step 6: Add 1 cup of  milk

This week we have been doing Environmental writing. We had to sketch a Kauri tree and then we had to write a poem about them.

This week we have been creating in makerspace. We read the book If I built a car. We had to create a car. Then we wrote a story about what we would do If we built a car.

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.
