Maori Art

Kia ora
Today team moana has been doing Matariki work. For my maori today I have done a Maori design to repesent my family the one with the koru in the middle of the tummy that is the baby in my mums tummy cause my mum is pregnant. My dad is the one leaning against my mum.The koru that is  leaning asgsent my mums head is my brother and the other koru that is by its self  is my me. Here is the photo of my Maori art.

Chicken Diva

A few weeks ago there was a book called Chicken divas. After we had read the book wwe went away and secthed an chicken. I chose just to do the face. Once I had scheted the chicken we had to paste l it.A week after some more people had finished we decorated them.Here is a photo of my chicken.

Matariki star

Today I have made a matariki star. Our whole class has made a matariki Star .My one is blue and purple I liked coloring it in .But I did not like glueing it together and popping it up.Here is a photo of my matriki 3d star.

Planing for my Christmas decration.

Kia ora,
Today, we had to design a decoration for Christmas because you all know that is almost Christmas. I chose to make a wreath. If you don't know what a wreath is. It's something  that hangs on your door. My materials for my wreath were ribbon, white tuff foam and pom poms. We are fundraising for our ski trip next year. I hope you like my draw with my decoration for Christmas. Here it is........

CHRISTMAS TREE WRITING

Today Team Awa sketched a Christmas tree and we also thought of some ideas. Then we wrote a poem. Here is my Christmas tree.

Art Term 4

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings. Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture. The words become the shape of the picture.

One thing I did well was the background for Kadinsky.
One thing I could improve are the Maori words inside the fruit.

Kauri tree art

Step 1 we had to make some clouds with white crayons.

step 2 We had to dye the background blue.

step 3 We had to get green and brown painted paper and rip it into pieces for the leaves.

Step 4  with the trunk we had to get our finger to paint patterns on the trunk.

step 5 we had to do the forest floor with our fingers as well.

Step 7 we glued it all together.

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

Self Portarit Art Blog

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketchin
g pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and
putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Hot Air Balloon Art

For Art we  created  hot air Balloons. We used pastel for the background.We used dye and black PVA

glue for the Balloon.We weaved the basket. My favourite part was painting the balloon with dye and doing the black PVA.

 

Collaborative bird wings

We made some collaborative bird wings. We each made feathers to put together to make the 

wings.

1. We made chalk patterns on the feathers.

2. We used white crayon over the chalk.

3. We used dye to colour the feathers we chose complimentary colours. 

My kite

We made kites from flax sticks and plastic bags. After we made them we flew them on the field. Our kite flew very well. After flying kites we wrote a poem.

We used marbling to create our background. Then we made patterns using sharpie on our rabbit. We added some whiskers and glasses. Here is my bunny.
